Capturing Worldviews of Cycling Field Studies for Social Good

Capturing Cycling Experiences

This is a passion project.

How this all got started

I founded this project through my love of cycling and good conversations. Cyclists of Your City is an online community that shares international experiences of cycling through photos and personal stories.

I chat with people to understand their behaviors, attitudes and emotions, which uncover how cycling is meaningful to them. My method involves making sure that I build a rapport with people first by introducing myself and the intentions of my project. I then ask open-ended questions that try and discover the unique story of each cyclist.

To reach cyclists on an global level, I have formed partnerships with others, through email and Skype calls, who have volunteered to interview cyclists for my project from countries like Norway, Denmark, and Japan.

Rebranding

This group was originally called "Cyclists of KW", covering the stories of cyclists within a small Canadian town called “Kitchener-Waterloo (KW)”. However, with growing popularity, the community expanded to capture experiences from around the world and was re-branded into Cyclists of Your City with creating the following video I created.
